Email PolicyEach domain is allowed to send out 300 emails per hour. If your mailing list would / does exceed these limits, then you would need to outsource the list to a 3rd party provider. Aushosts no longer hosts sites that deal with mass email type services. Failing to observe the above limits will result in the mail list software being disabled or having your account suspended. We make no apologies for the harsh stance here. Too many times we've seen sites push through 20,000+ emails through their account in 1 hit. This causes chaos on the server and prevents others from accessing and sending their email. Sites that deal in mass email, need to be placed on dedicated servers and have no place in our shared server platform. We also place a limit of 150 recipients per an authenticated SMTP session (i.e from Outlook or Mac Mail); in addition to the 300 emails per an hour limit. So if you are sending email out via Outlook make sure you cut them down to 150 emails per message and only send 2 out each hour. Aushosts will shortly be providing a new email/fax marketing platform where customers will be able to sign up based on the number of emails/faxes they have in their list. The system will look after bounces by removing them from the list and the system will comply with the relevant government legislation in Australia with regards to email and fax marketing. You can get more details on this from our sales department on 1300 287 467. |
